Ingredients
  • 2 dried ancho chili peppers
  • 2 dried guajillo chili peppers
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup almonds
  • 0.25 cup raisins
  • 0.25 cup sesame seeds
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.25 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 0.25 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Chili Peppers:
    • Remove the stems and seeds from the dried ancho and guajillo chili peppers.
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the chili peppers for about 1-2 minutes on each side until fragrant.
    • Place the toasted chili peppers in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let them soak for about 15-20 minutes until softened.
  2. Toast the Nuts and Seeds:
    • In the same skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
